This commissioned piece was created for a retired couple’s vacation home on Pigeon Lake. Some of the wood was taken from a rotted stump on the property which holds special significance for the family. It is a reflective piece which allows the viewer the opportunity to stay connected to nature, even when not hiking in the woods. What a dream for Scott to work on this one … many times I caught him in dreams of reverie or a meditative flow. He embraced the natural form of the wood and encouraged the bumps and warts to be visible in this finished piece. Scott’s respect and dedication to his work allows the spirit of each tree to live on in his art and therefore create new life.
